The Path Of Metaphor is an album of ambient instrumental music, conceived and recorded in January 2019. The music and the title arrived together.

Ambient instrumental music can be difficult to compile and present. The musician may wish to leave the listener with enough ambiguity so that there are no distractions from titles or design. But if stripped of too much information, the music may merely float above a blank canvas, remote and disconnected.

I hope I have presented this album with enough information to interest and inform while leaving plenty of space for listening without distraction.

Very loose improvised structures and solos are looped by pedal with improvised structures and solos performed live while loops are in playback

Tunings and capo positions are decided upon simultaneously while improvising against the loops during setup

Recorded live to two-track stereo in single-take recordings

INSPIRATION
'The Path Of Metaphor' is a sentence fragment from the novel 'Killing Commendatore - Haruki Murakami' which I read January 2019
